Nepal Police to have provincial set up

Kathmandu –  The government has decided to have provincial set up of the existing organization of Nepal Police.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers today approved the quota of 3,101 for the provincial set up of Nepal Police, said Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Baskota.
The government is to prioritize the arrangement of human resources in the local levels where there are no police units, he said, adding that the quota of 1,600 police persons would be managed in a year.
Meanwhile, decision was made to reduce the quota of Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police to three, and of the Armed Police Force to two. Earlier, there were 16 posts for AIG in Nepal Police and six in the Armed Police Force.
The government accepted the full financial and technical assistance from the Chinese government for the construction of Miteri Bridge at Tatopani border point in Sindhupalchowk. The Chinese government had proposed Nepal government for assisting in this regard.
Minister Baskota also informed that the government decided to give authority to the Ministry of Energy and its Chinese counterpart to sign on the letter of agreement on Nepal-China cooperation on energy sector.
